Jamie and Jeremiah’s wedding was SUCH a pleasure to be a part of. Not only was the entire day drop-dead beautiful – from the décor to the location (Occasions at Stone River in Royse City) to the weather – but you just can’t find sweeter clients than these two. Jamie and Jeremiah are both kind, gracious, cheerful, lovely people who are adorable together. Their wedding was totally smooth and blissful from beginning to end and their family/friends couldn’t have been any more amazing and fun. Jamie and Jeremiah make a stunning couple and I could just shoot them all day.

I was tickled to have fellow photog, Ian Williams, to second shoot with me for Jamie and Jeremiah’s special evening. There were so many beautiful details and emotions everywhere we looked! I have to admit that I’m a total sucker for the green apple motif and really dug all the wonderful details. So so so beautiful.

It was a heartfelt evening – from the sweet vows to the thoughtful toasts to the tender way Jamie and Jeremiah’s hands touched during their first dance. I love when I can really feel the strong bond between a bride and groom and I know that these two are going to enjoy a solid marriage together.

Wedding season has kicked off and there is sweetness everywhere!

Love was definitely in the air at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens when Tanisha and Guy tied the knot. This laid-back couple shares a solid bond and I loved seeing the tenderness they share. It was also cool to see how close Guy’s family and Tanisha were – it was apparent both in the ceremony and at the reception that Guy’s parents were delighted to have Tanisha added to their family! After some quick snaps in the garden, the couple enjoyed a casual, fun reception with their close friends and family. I also want to extend a special thanks to the sweet bridesmaid and gentleman who helped me get back out to my car (which was parked forever away in the dark)!

Earlier this month, I met up with two fabulous stylists from the Northeast Mall Toni and Guy (Jennifer and Dacia) to take photos for a national hair contest submission. These highly talented ladies are competing in a couple of different categories and needed to send in some images of their work.

Instantly, the project seemed like fun, but I became crazy excited when they mentioned cars, vintage gas pumps, and a rural environment. (Um, yes please.) Somehow, they had connections with a sweet couple who had an amazing chunk of land out in Terrell and it was a complete blast to shoot at – one could easily spend all day there. All of the models were kind as can be and did a wonderful job (even though we were all a bit toasty at some points). Any lady who can gracefully scale a ladder in heels deserves a prize! And I think the hair speaks for itself – amazing! It was so fun for me to participate in such a unique shoot – I wish the team all the best in the upcoming competition!

I love being pregnant and with my biology background, it’s neat to have this little process going on in my tummy.  Pregnancy is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced and I’m cherishing each day.

I want to extend a special thanks to my clients, who have lifted me in prayer and offered support along the way when the road got bumpy.  There have been some trials getting to this point, but our joy has been magnified as a result.  I also want to encourage any couple out there that is struggling with adding to their family to remain hopeful and keep strong.

I am so blessed to work with the sweetest couples and families in the metroplex – hands down (and it’s so cool that I can call many of them friends).  Even this past week during a model shoot, one amazing stylist took it upon herself to keep a cold bottle of water near me the entire time.  I’m a bad sweater even sans-preggo (gross!), so I’m sure she thought I was about to keel over even though it was just my normal operating procedure – such a sweetie).

Even though I plan to attend scheduled shoots as long as I can waddle, I’m grateful to know and work with dependable talent I can count on should the big day come much earlier/later than expected (and happy for couples that are flexible if a change in plans occur).

I can’t wait to share pics in a few months of Pod and to experience the messy and wonderful joy of parenthood.

When former clients and current pals Jenny and Josh had their baby (well, technically Jenny had the baby), it was a stellar event. Little Emma was born on a record snow day in February and Jeromy and I were fortunate to see her when she was less than a day old in the hospital. Emma and I been buddies ever since and I’m convinced that she molds perfectly to my chest and belly when I hold her.

On Easter weekend, we did a few snaps of Miss Emma – even though she was not pleased about having her photos taken most of the time (due to being moved, readjusted, changed from outfit to another in a short amount of time, and having her paci taken from her without permission).

Honest-to-goodness “super” families are hard to come by.  They are rare and precious – but totally easy to spot.  When my husband and I first started attending our church congregation in Hurst, the Williams family stuck out immediately to us.  Not only did I always admire Amy’s totally fabulous shoe and outfit selections, but they just have “it”… complete bliss, love, and joy.  Amy and Ian are fantasitcally nuts about each other and little Liam is truly about as cute as you can get (seriously).  Liam is always so good in sacrament meeting and I love how the Williams’ operate as one unit.  I adored them all even before we all became buddies (in a non creepy stalker way).

Once we started to get to know one another, I was totally stoked to find out that Ian is a fellow photographer and am so excited that we will be able to work together on upcoming sessions.

I, of course, jumped at the chance to do some photos for them and we had a lovely morning at the gardens in Grapevine.  Sweet Liam even busted out some super hero moves at the end with his amazing red cape.  The beauty and laughter and sweetness of this family is awesome and I’m so blessed to know them.

I knew that I would love Valerie and Jason from the minute they walked into Starbucks for our first consultation.  Valerie had an amazing bag (that she made - how cool is she??) and Jason had a happy ease to him that is so much fun to be around. My initial hunch was totally right.  I love how Valerie and Jason totally dig each other – it is so sweet.  Needless to say, I am way excited for Valerie and Jason’s wedding – bright colors, zebra print, and lots of fun will be had.

For their eSession, we spent a beee-autiful and breezy morning in Las Colinas.  I adore the fact that both Valerie and Jason had a high level of enthusiasm throughout their entire session.  They are beautiful peeps inside and out and absolutely a joy to be around.  To see more wonderful goodness from Valerie and Jason, click HERE or on one of the photos below.

I recently attended a photography workshop put on by Gauper Photo.  First off – I love Ryan and Holly!  They have a fun style, do amazing work, and are as lovely as they come.  The workshop was fantastic and I benefitted a ton from going.

Towards the end of the day, we all went on a shoot.  Originally, a model was lined up for our group but it didn’t work out at the last minute.  SO, we were fortunate enough to shoot Kamille and Bradley, who are recently engaged (and adorable to boot!).  Through some luck and genius, access to a theater costume storage area was obtained and they found some fun clothing for the session.  We shot in the Deep Ellum area and it was a blast.  Kamille and Bradley are naturals in front of the camera (or 8 cameras!) and are a gorgeous couple (who needs a model?).  It was fun getting to know them and we all enjoyed taking in the sweet giddiness they both exhibit for each other.  Kamille is a dancer and even busted out some jumps and spins for us.  Um, awesome!  It was so fun to watch other photographers at work and to be able to learn and grow.  I am stoked that we were able to work with Kamille and Bradley – they are so fun and I love their sweet innocence.  Thanks again to Ryan and Holly for sharing their knowledge (and making it so darn fun) and a special congrats to Kamille and Bradley during this exciting time together!

I totally admit that I might be a tad biased when talking about the Mayos, considering they are family, but they really are amazing.

First off – to have six (yes… SIX) kiddos that are all so wonderful and well-mannered speaks volumes about the terrific parenting engrained in this family.  Not only are each and every one of them gorgeous, but they are all talented and heavily involved in their respective pursuits.  Each family member can be proud of their accomplishments and I’m so honored to be related to them.

I hadn’t seen the Mayos in a long time (too long, actually) and it was such a blessing to catch up with everyone.  They drove all the way up from Killeen to have some family photos done and I kid you not – it was one of my favorite days.  Ever.  The energy and the downright sweetness of everyone was invigorating and addictive.  I’m so impressed with my aunt and uncle as examples of parents.  They are sweet, calm, and collected at all times (and I’m convinced that my always-cheerful aunt stopped aging in her twenties).  I’m so inspired by my cousins and cannot wait to see the incredible things they are going to accomplish and who they are going to be.  Mayo Family – you rock.  Like, seriously.  I love you all so much and hope that you keep up all the good work you are doing.  You are an inspiration and example to those around you and it is truly an honor to claim a link to you.
