FAQ

Do you travel to photograph destination weddings?

Red Brick Photography primarily serves the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, however, we are available to travel anywhere to your event. Please contact for more details.

What equipment do you use?

Nikon professional equipment is used for every event. During shoots, I carry an extra camera body, flashes, and lenses as backup. If you need a detailed list of my current equipment, please contact me.

What format will the photos on my image CD be?

All of your image files will be high resolution jpg files, from which prints can be made. Clients will have the rights to reproduce their images for personal use.

How many images will I receive from my event?

This varies widely from event to event. I will shoot an unlimited number of digital images during your session or event. Typically, an engagement or bridal session will result between 100-200 images. Weddings vary widely depending on time, but generally average between 200-400 photos.

Are you a full time photographer?

During the work week, I work at a local engineering firm. However, when I’m not working, you can usually find me with a camera in hand. I love photography and am passionate about working with clients to help capture special moments.

Are guests allowed to take pictures?

Weddings are a great time for families and friends to reunite and it is only normal that others want to document the day. Guests are encouraged to take pictures as long as they don’t interfere with or get in the way of my work. As the hired photographer, I have committed to the bride and groom to document the event. I prefer that guests not shoot during formal portraits due to time constraints, issues with distracting subjects, unexpected flashes, etc. Outside of formals, as long as guests are respectful, I urge them to shoot away. All of the photos will be posted to an event album from which any of your guests/family can view and order prints.

Do you have any tips for my engagement session?

When selecting a location, think of places that are special to you as a couple - be creative! If applicable, please bring any props you and your fiance would like to pose with. While couples don’t have to match, it is preferable that colors compliment each other. It is best to avoid loud patterns - dark colors are usually best. Please remember to select proper shoes, as many shots may include your feet. If applicable, bring touchup makeup and/or hairspray to your session for touch ups between shots. If your session is outdoors, wear appropriate clothing that you will be comfortable in for the entire shoot, which can last up to two hours. Most importantly, wear something you feel good in and come ready to have a good time.

What do I need to bring to my bridal session?

Bridal sessions are a fun time and usually go more smoothly if the bride brings a helper to help move around and position the gown. If applicable, please remember to bring a bouquet or any other props you would like to pose with. Also, bringing a white sheet will help to keep your dress clean during the session.

Do you have a second shooter?

A second shooter can be added to any wedding package. For medium to large weddings, a second shooter is highly recommended so that your event receives the proper amount of coverage. A second shooter helps the day to run more smoothly and can provide additional images of your event. Please contact for more information.
