There were all sorts of fun additions last year, including Mr. Jaden. I was so impressed with big brothers Colin and Spencer – they are such great helpers and genuinely love their new little brother. We had a blast taking photos in Benbrook. Even though Jaden wasn’t feeling well that day, he was a trooper and the older boys were more than happy to do whatever action shots we needed.

Greg and Maria are incredible parents and are involved with their children. They love being together and their strong bond is evident when you are around them. It is refreshing to see a truly happy family and I felt honored to capture this new chapter in their lives.

With all of the oppressive heat and high temperatures, it’s a great time to post some of my favorite sessions from last fall and winter. If it can’t be cool, then at least we can be reminded that these seasons are just right around the corner.

Cue the Williams family. You’ve seen ‘em before, but for this session, there was a new family member – Owen. Liam and Owen were adorable and Ian and Amy were as precious as ever. I consider myself fortunate to be their friend and have learned so much from them.

I don’t know what has happened, but things have been rocking on the highest level possible and I have had the pleasure of shooting some of the most amazing people lately!  One example took place recently with the O’Learys.  When I first met up with them, I thought I had walked into a magazine.  They are all so gorgeous and perfect!  I was so stoked that they brought enthusiasm and fun attitudes (and props) with them.  They are just as sweet and kind and personable as they can be and I loved soaking in the girls’ awesomeness!

The weather was perfect (don’t you love that fall weather has finally arrived?) and I couldn’t imagine a better family to shoot. Balloons, sports teams, tutus, lollipops, bubbles, and great smiles?  Yes, please.  And then some.  The O’Learys are an ideal example of a strong family and I’m so blessed to have had the opportunity to have capture some fun moments with them.

Honest-to-goodness “super” families are hard to come by.  They are rare and precious – but totally easy to spot.  When my husband and I first started attending our church congregation in Hurst, the Williams family stuck out immediately to us.  Not only did I always admire Amy’s totally fabulous shoe and outfit selections, but they just have “it”… complete bliss, love, and joy.  Amy and Ian are fantasitcally nuts about each other and little Liam is truly about as cute as you can get (seriously).  Liam is always so good in sacrament meeting and I love how the Williams’ operate as one unit.  I adored them all even before we all became buddies (in a non creepy stalker way).

Once we started to get to know one another, I was totally stoked to find out that Ian is a fellow photographer and am so excited that we will be able to work together on upcoming sessions.

I, of course, jumped at the chance to do some photos for them and we had a lovely morning at the gardens in Grapevine.  Sweet Liam even busted out some super hero moves at the end with his amazing red cape.  The beauty and laughter and sweetness of this family is awesome and I’m so blessed to know them.

I totally admit that I might be a tad biased when talking about the Mayos, considering they are family, but they really are amazing.

First off – to have six (yes… SIX) kiddos that are all so wonderful and well-mannered speaks volumes about the terrific parenting engrained in this family.  Not only are each and every one of them gorgeous, but they are all talented and heavily involved in their respective pursuits.  Each family member can be proud of their accomplishments and I’m so honored to be related to them.

I hadn’t seen the Mayos in a long time (too long, actually) and it was such a blessing to catch up with everyone.  They drove all the way up from Killeen to have some family photos done and I kid you not – it was one of my favorite days.  Ever.  The energy and the downright sweetness of everyone was invigorating and addictive.  I’m so impressed with my aunt and uncle as examples of parents.  They are sweet, calm, and collected at all times (and I’m convinced that my always-cheerful aunt stopped aging in her twenties).  I’m so inspired by my cousins and cannot wait to see the incredible things they are going to accomplish and who they are going to be.  Mayo Family – you rock.  Like, seriously.  I love you all so much and hope that you keep up all the good work you are doing.  You are an inspiration and example to those around you and it is truly an honor to claim a link to you.

This is Delinda.  Isn’t she gorgeous?  She’s got an amazing, kind personality to boot and the most a-dorable family you can imagine.  She’s lovely in every way – and she needs your help.  Delinda has been diagnosed with ACL leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant soon.

On Friday, March 26, there will be a marrow drive to help identify a matching donor.  The drive will last until 8:00 pm, so you can even swing by after work on your way to meet friends for dinner.  At the drive, you’ll get a quick cheek swab and have some information collected and sent to the national registry.  If you are found to be a match, some more tests will be conducted and your extra cells could be harvested to save a life.

Sound cool?  It gets better – there will be a benefit sale on Friday and Saturday to help cover the cost of processing the swabs.  If you have items or cash you would like to donate, please call 817-738-5969.

One of the many advantages of marrying into Jeromy’s large family is that I have plenty of cute kids to take photos of. Just one example is little Nathan… Jeromy’s cousin’s (Eric) and his wife’s (Emily) son. It was fun to meet up with Eric, Emily, and Nathan to get some photos to record the “6 month” milestone. Nathan has the most lovely disposition and was FABULOUS the entire time. I also had a blast getting to know Eric and Emily better and can see that parenthood has brought them a lot of joy. Jeromy and I are looking forward to our dinner with them this week.

When Wendy contacted me about doing a portrait session with all of her family, I was completely excited. I had not seen Wendy and Jeff since their 2007 wedding and was stoked to meet their new little one (quite the cutie I must say). The session didn’t last very long due to the chilly weather, but we were able to get a variety of groupings and fun shots despite the cold. Everyone was such a trooper.

It’s appropriate that such a large family session was done this time of year. It was really neat to see this group interact and all the kids’ excitement to be around each other. It’s my understanding that the combined shot was used as a Christmas gift for a grandparent. I thought it was a really cool idea.

Wendy had a great question while we were planning for the session – she wanted to know if there would be an additional fee for the larger group and there is not (in case someone is reading this and would like to do a similar session).
