Tiffany and Todd

December 15th, 2009 · 1 Comment

When a bride greets you on the day of the wedding like you’re an old friend, you know you have a super sweetheart on your hands. Not only is Tiffany mega gorgeous physically, this girl has a heart of gold. Tiffany and Todd tied the knot at the wonderful Piazza in the Village in Colleyville. Todd’s father officiated the ceremony, which made for touching moments throughout. The reception was organized and fun and the evening was kicked off when Todd and Tiffany’s love story was read aloud. Throughout the night, there were lots and lots of happy dancers on the dance floor.

Before the last dance, I caught Tiffany and Todd exchanging a pinky promise.  I don’t know what it was about, but it was one of the most precious things I’ve ever seen.

Another thing that I really thought was cool about Tiffany and Todd’s reception is that the couple shared a private dance together before departing. No guests. No clanging of glasses and laughter. Just them. I thought it was a really great idea and admired the thought and detail that went into the whole day.

Also, a special thanks to Todd’s groomsman, who acted as my “flash holder” during the private portraits. I know that Tiffany and Todd share a deep and sweet love for one another and wish them all the best during their marriage! Jesica and Evan

November 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

When I grow up, I want to be as cool as Jesica and Evan.

(Heck - I’d even be tickled to be half as cool as these two.)

Jesica and Evan recently moved to the area (from California) and I am fortunate that they go to my congregation at church (and super duper blessed that Jesica serves in the youth program with me). Both Jesica and Evan are charming, charismatic, and their enthusiasm is downright contagious. When they approached me about doing a session for their Christmas cards, I was more than thrilled to have an excuse to hang with them at their beautiful home. I love being around playful couples and it was so sweet to see the love and warmth that Jesica and Evan exhibit for one another. They are a team in every sense of the word and I know that they have wonderful things ahead of them.

If you want to make your heart happy, click HERE or on one of the photos below to see a slide show of Jesica and Evan’s Christmas card session. Jesica and Evan - thank you guys SO much for your awesome friendship and for such a fun session! I hope you both enjoy your first Christmas in Texas - we are lucky to have you here!

Pam and Stephen - eSession

November 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Pam for years and she has been a super great friend to me through some pretty rough experiences. Pam also will always have a special place in my heart because she drug me out of the house one night to go to a get-together at another friend’s apartment… and it was that night that I met my sweet husband. I owe Pam a ton and was beyond delighted when she told me that she was getting married in January.

Pam and Stephen needed a photo for their invitations so we headed to a nearby park to grab some quick snaps. Mosquitoes were in full force that evening but Pam and Stephen toughed it out and had a fun session. I am so excited for these two to tie the knot and know that they will share a beautiful life together! Anne and Ben

Anne and Ben

I absolutely adore these two gorgeous kids. They are amazing, gracious, kind, patient, and loving to each other and everyone they come in contact with.

Anne and Ben - your wedding had hands-down THE best dancers I have ever seen. At one point, I felt like I was in a choregraphed movie or something. All of your family and friends are some of the the most beautiful people inside and out. It’s clear to see that you are cherished by many and the entire night was truly a celebration. Big, genuine smiles were found in every frame - I love it! I enjoyed every moment of your ceremony and sang along at your reception. The entire evening was a perfect reflection of you both and it was an complete honor to be part of your special day.

I had so many favorites from this wedding, so forgive the long post. I highly encourage you to check out the slide show by clicking HERE or on one of the photos below.

Again - congratulations and many best wishes to Anne and Ben!

A Special Thanks to Our Heroes

November 8th, 2009 · No Comments

There are no words that can adequately describe the gratitude and appreciation we should have for our troops. I spent a large portion of my childhood in Copperas Cove, Texas (right by Fort Hood) and am deeply honored to say that my grandparents served in the military. I can’t even fathom the courage and sacrifice within each of our brave men and women.

One experience that stands out from my childhood was during the time of Desert Storm. Within the course of a couple of days, it seemed the virtually every soldier from Fort Hood was called to duty. My family went to church as normal, and when we got there, my dad was the only man in the congregation - every father/husband was deployed. It was a unique experience to say the least. There were tears in many eyes that day and emotions ran high. Between my observations of church and my friends at school, I witnessed first hand the strength and dedication that occurs for the families that are waiting at home. To this day, those memories are in the front of my mind and I am humbled by the valiant men and women serving in our armed forces. I am also humbled by the valiant husbands and wives that keep things running while they are away. We can’t thank you enough.

When I heard about Operation Love ReUnited, it instantly spoke to me. I knew that this organization would be a perfect fit for Red Brick Photography. It’s just a small way to give back. I’ve started a gallery of OpLove photos HERE.

I had a blast with my first special family and look forward to working with more heroes - both big and small - in the future.

Tara and John

October 13th, 2009 · 1 Comment

“And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.” ~G. K. Chesterton

Torrential storms. A bag on fire. A dropped bag of goldfish. Two gorgeous people madly in love. A proud little boy with a frog. And a rainbow. This wedding had it all and I loved every minute of it.

Tara and John are no strangers to Red Brick … their sweet cuteness and kind hearts shine through their eSession photos. Their wedding day started with storms… not a sprinkle of mist, not even rain, but all-out storms. The staff at Lone Oak Winery were wonderful and quickly adapted the area for a covered ceremony. Craziness continued while the girls were getting ready… Tara had a pink bridal bag that caught on fire from a candle… and the marriage license was inside! Luckily, the license was safe and all was well (although a safe spot was quickly found for it). While setting up the centerpieces, there was a mishap when a bag of goldfish was dropped… plenty of helping hands were around to get them safely back in the water.

Everything was settled and all eyes were on John, who was waiting for his dear Tara. And then it happened… she turned the corner in the carriage and I think everyone probably lost their breath for a second. I expected no less from them, but it was a wonderful ceremony full of joy and emotion. The evening was rounded out with a prayer before the couple departed. It was so great to see all the guests in a circle, lifting John and Tara up as they started this sacred journey together.

Even though things didn’t go to plan, they still went perfectly and it was one of the most beautiful evenings ever. I know that there are many more rainbows on the horizon for Tara and John and I wish them all the best in their marriage! Roxanne and Sam

October 1st, 2009 · No Comments

You know you’re at an awesome wedding when the maid of honor gives her toast and lists 100 (yes… 100) reasons she loves the bride and it ends up being the most charming, touching, and funniest thing you’ve ever heard! By the time the list was reached, you not only felt like you had a peek into these two ladies’ special friendship, but it was clear to see why Sam looks at Roxanne the way that he does.

This wedding was filled with Roxanne and Sam’s style from the get-go…. From the intimate chapel to the cupcakes to the drink holder favors. It was done their way and it was FABULOUS. Sam’s groomsmen kept me in stitches the entire evening and their wedding and reception were a celebration of love in every way. I love love love Roxanne and Sam and know that they will make each other happy for years to come. Thanks to both of them for a wonderful night and tons of laughs!
